About Nafas

Nafas Fitness Studio is a self-paced fitness and yoga studio. It is the only studio that offers 23 classes in fitness, dance, and yoga a week! With a wide variety of group classes, members can meet their unique fitness needs, go at their own pace and switch things up.

Nafas takes pride in having amazing instructors and members. Nafas is a fun, welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you can break a sweat, dance, and express your inner power. Students of all levels are made to feel welcomed.

About the owner

The Owner

Janel Calka-Assaf, owner and NASM Certified instructor at Nafas Fitness, is a Royal Oak resident. Wife and mother of two children and a potbelly pig named Pudge, this working mom has created a fun, judgment-free, self-paced fitness, and yoga studio for all ages and abilities.

With over 23 years of teaching experience in dance, fitness, and yoga, Janel shares her love and passion with others. Janel’s positive attitude will inspire and motivate you — not only to get in shape but also to discover your best self.

What are your membership prices?

From a single class to unlimited classes, Nafas offers a variety of membership types and class options to help meet your fitness needs and work with your schedule. To learn more about our membership and class rates, please navigate to our Membership page.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable and supportive shoes. Fitness clothing that is comfortable and easy to move around in. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

What are the COVID precautions at Nafas?

Nafas Fitness is taking COVID safety seriously. Your safety is important to us. During these uncertain times, we are taking extra precautions to keep you safe while here at Nafas.

For the safety of everyone, please bring and wear a mask the entire time inside the building. The classes and class sizes will also be limited, so please pre-register to see what is available and to save your spot.

Where do I park?

Nafas Fitness has free, on-site parking.

How do I sign up for weekly classes?

Attending classes at Nafas is easy. You can join and sign up for classes in person or online. To view the class schedule and/or sign up online, visit our Schedule/Sign Up page.

Can I bring a friend?

You can always bring a friend to Nafas, however, we do not offer free trials at Nafas.

Does Nafas have lockers?

Nafas has cubbies, and coat hooks to store your items while you attend class.
